Polyphonic Catastrophe - Classical Jams

Comments:
YOU would like Carmina Burana. It's hyperactive.
You'd also like Peer Gynt.
hey just thought I'd reply here to your FFXII questions from my other entry. I checked the strategy guide and found a merchant selling embroidered tippets, so I got them for my party. And as for their levels~ Everyone is lvl.41 'cept for Penelo who is 42. I want to be able to keep everyone close to the same level in case I'm in a battle and need to switch out characters, which is often needed.
So haven't you beaten the game yet? Cuz I thought you did? Where is the great crystal at? Is that farther than Ridorana or before it? Cuz I think I remember being in the great crystal at some point.
Nope. I haven't beaten the game. I have this weird thing with RPGs where I hate ending them so I always get to the end and then I stop. Right now, I could go to the last dungeon whenever I want and from what I've heard, its very short.
As for the Great Crystal, its before Ridorana and you have been inside of it already (its in Giruvegan) and I BELIEVE that you return to it prior to completing Ridorana...however, I don't recommend that you do that as it can be pretty tough at times...especially the Esper inside. Also, the toughest boss in the game is in there. I should actually try my luck on him at some point soon.
Trust me when I say that our experience difference is most likely due to my wearing of the Embroidered Tippets throughout the game (well, that and maybe a few hunts).
Your character switching idea is a great one, though you don't HAVE to keep them too close together. You just want them to live long enough to chain quickenings and revive your main fighting force before going down.
Note: I haven't finished FFVIII, IX, or X either. On ALL of them, I am ready to enter the final dungeon... Hmm, perhaps I should have a "Final Fantasy Beatdown" weekend, eh?
I remember being in the great crystal but don't remember much about the enemies inside. I really haven't gone for the esper hunts because some of them are so ridiculously hard~ the only extra one I've gotten is the one in the Zertinian caverns.
Hahaha, yeah, I want to finish XII so that I can play Revanant Wings which is still sitting on my coffee table still wrapped in plastic. Although I will be sad when its done because this game has completely rocked my socks off.
I've finished VIII and X but not IX. I didn't even like IX that much, I remember getting to the 4th disc, right near the end, then said fuck it cuz I got too obsessed with Ocarina of Time =P
Embroidered Tippets are awesome! You can also steal them from one of the Coeurls in either Golmore Jungle or Tchita Uplands. If you can get some nice holy weapons (excalibur, holy lance) there's a section of the Nabreus Deadlands called Overlooking Eternity. If you can buff your characters and keep them alive while taking on the undead in that part, you'll soon be out of the 40s and into the 50s and 60s. Just kill them all, go two screens away, turn around, rinse and repeat! I never had much problems with status effects, so the tippets come in handy there.
I've finally JUST made it into the Nechrol of Nabudis and the Nabreus Deadlands. In the process I had to defeat that bomb king that keeps fully replenishing his health >.<;;; I also came upon a Crystal bug that almost killed me several times, I whooped a freaking 11-chain quickening at it and it STILL didn't die! SO yeah, had to flee from that one.
Last night I attempted to get some better weapons but I'm at the point where all the really good ones are so frickin' rare, having to sell all that stuff to the shop then get it in the bazaar~ I tried getting a few items but of course when I steal its never the item I need. God I fricking hate this aspect of Final Fantasy.
Claude Debussy writes a lot of mellow yet emotional music. In fact, the CD I would recommend hunting down is called "Debussy for Daydreaming" ^_^ You've probably heard "Clair de Lune" Linky link: www.amazon.com/Debussy-Daydreaming-Claude/dp/B0000041CL/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1201894976&sr=8-1
As for single pieces: if ya want a track that's gut-wrenching emotional, try Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings" (made popular by the movie Platoon)
Another favorite of mine is Antonin Dvorak's "Largo from New World Symphony". Try finding an arrangement that's heavy on the orchestral strings. Brass just sounds too cheesy for this piece.
Finally, Erik Satie writes a bunch of beautiful piano pieces. Check out the first piece from "Trois Gymnopedie". You'll probably recognize it from anime or video games hahaha. I hear this theme often nowadays.
Here's a link: "pianomidi.org/html/satie.shtml" and listen to "Gymnopedie 1ere (Trois Gymnopedies)"
I'd recommend Gustav Holst, who's major work was the Planets. It's not really classical, but there's also Karl Jenkins who did a series of albums called Adiemus. Then there's always Khachaturian and Rachmaninoff. I've also been a huge fan of Vivaldi and his Four Seasons. There's one song attributed to Albinoni that's one of my favorites called Adiagio in G Minor. I think it was actually used in the Godfather, but I'm uncertain. Anyhoo, I hope that helps.
